Lotus Restaurant Group - Creating food memories
The Lotus Group consists of 6 Asian restaurants across Sydney. Founded by innovator Michael Jiang, the restaurants aim to conjure the food memories that were so close to Michael’s childhood.
The Brief
Social Media is a huge part of any business’ marketing campaign. Our brief was to create a collection of photos that featured the menu items from each different location. As each venue has it’s own colour palette and unique interior design features, our aim was to bring that colour and style through the photos as well.
While each restaurant was unique, we also ensured a consistent look and feel across the portfolio.
The Plan
Shooting on location at each venue, over a series of seperate days, allowed us to bring each restaurants unique style into the photos.
We scheduled time with the Chef and kitchen team at each venue, who worked in advance to have the food ready when we arrived, ensuring we could achieve the maximum amount of shots in a day.
The Shoot
Creating the authentic look we were after, meant that we needed a lot of props and extra plates of food, to use in the background of the shots. We worked with the team throughout each shoot, getting approval for each shot as we worked.
Oh and the important bit - yes we got to eat some of the delicious food at the end of the shoot. It had to be authentic!!
The Feedback
As new restaurants continue to be added to the Lotus Group portfolio, we are excited to be continuing to shoot their new menus. In addition to food, we also extended the project to include people shots. Having real team members doing what they do in each shot, added a huge amount of authenticity to the project.
