Terrara House - Local Producers Find a Collaboration Home

With this historic property recently changing ownership, the new owners wanted to capture the true essence of this magnificent estate. Their plan was to give new life to the house and allow customers to wine, dine and rest but also enjoy the produce of the Shoalhaven area. The team spent 3 days onsite to really capture the soul of Terrara House.

The Brief

“The focus for the shoot will be to capture the natural beauty of the property”

The owners of Terrara House engaged the Project Managment Company, Mills + Franks to manage the re-launch of the home and position it as a hub for the local producers and experiences. As well as weddings, they wanted the estate to host corporate events, as well as visitors who just want a weekend away. With very little collateral handed over from the last owner, they needed a complete photo library.

The brief was to capture

  • The accomodation

  • The event spaces

  • Dining experiences

  • Onsite staff including the head chef

  • Lifestyle shots

  • General photos around the grounds

The Plan

After a meeting to discuss the proposed shooting weekend, we came up with a timeline for the project. This involved the host inviting guests to the launch party, preparing food and drinks to photograph and even asking the attendees to dress in the earthy tones of the brand’s colour palette.

The photography mood board also reflected these early tones, so it was important to capture and edit the images in the same way. We planned to colour correct the photos with “Minty Greens” and “Sandy Sunets” tones without the over saturation of colours.

The Shoot

Before we arrived we had constucted a “Shot list” and worked with the venue to time the food, drinks and people required at each shoot time. It was basically lots of mini photoshoots thoughout the weekend.
We would discuss with the staff about the next setup and have them prepare the items we needed. This allowed for a speedy and efficient photoshoot.

The Feedback

Here is the email we received from the branding team after the photos were delivered.

“Hi Team Inlighten

Just wanted to express how much we LOVE our photos from the launch weekend. I’m slowly going through them properly, but they are just absolutely stunning.

I’ll go into more detail about it when I see you, but to really note:

  • The value of sitting with you in initial stages and sharing our concept and brand identity was valuable in ensuring this shoot was successful and that we got what we wanted out of it. We definitely maximised our opportunity there

  • Really glad you told me to tell guests there was a dress code, it makes a difference!

  • This has been so valuable when building a client’s business and made it seamless to create beautiful collateral, sales content and evolve the website. It’s also allowed me to build our accommodation platforms easily and has already generated bookings!

  • I’ve shared these photos with our suppliers and producers who were also part of it and they are just so thrilled and appreciative of them, they love them and have given such great feedback. I’ve asked to ensure they credit you wherever marketed.

I’m super excited for you guys evolving “Business Stories by Inlighten” – this is going to be great, and I can’t wait to share with you our plan and vision for Mills + Franks as there is such a wider scope for us to be working together on these kind of projects”
